
Mission Statement:
The Academic Affairs committee works to improve the academic experience of Truman students. We attend regular meetings with administration and professors to plan and execute projects in order to achieve this goal. These projects have ranged from working with the provost to add new majors and minors, helping revamping course evaluations, and even brainstorming with professors changes to existing classes like the freshman seminar. The Academic Affairs committee is also in charge of picking out each semesters commencement speaker for graduation, as well as running academic accolades, an award ceremony to honor professors the students feel have done an outstanding job in either teaching, research mentoring, or in advocating for student physical and mental health.

The Diversity and Inclusion Committee strives to recognize the diverse backgrounds and needs of the Student Association, promoting an inclusive campus environment. The Committee represents all students needs and fulfills its mission through diversity and inclusion programming, involvement in University policy making, and collaboration with administrative and student groups that promote diversity and inclusion.

Environmental Sustainability is truly for everyone! The Environmental Affairs Committee is dedicated to making sustainability accessible to Truman Students and staff by providing educational resources, promoting practical, environmentally-friendly habits and adding improvements to campus that allow students to reconnect with the natural beauty of our planet.
Mission Statement:
The External Affairs Committee strives to promote communication between the Student Association and the larger society of which it is a part. This committee actively works to: establish and maintain communication with members of the Kirksville community, the Missouri State Government, and the student governments from other Universities.


Mission Statement:
The Health, Wellness, and Safety (HWS) committee seeks to promote wellness on campus through collaborations with DPS to educate students on safety precautions. It seeks to provide students with educational videos, workshops, and more about nutrition to ensure that students can make smart dietary choices. Other commitments the committee makes includes working with the Student Recreation Center to improve physical wellness on campus and with the Women’s Resource Center to ensure feminine products are widely available and women’s health is prioritized. The HWS committee also continues to promote and improve the Lactation Room located in the Student Union Building to create a more inclusive space for students with children.
Mission Statement:
Truman State’s Student Affairs Committee is committed to advocating for and enhancing the student experience. As a “catch-all” committee, we develop, review, and recommend initiatives while collaborating with university leadership on key student services, including but not limited to housing, health, dining, athletics, financial aid, campus events, and student well-being. We aim to create meaningful, lasting improvements that benefit current and future students. Through policy initiatives, events, and advocacy efforts, we remain dedicated to serving the student body’s best interests.

Mission Statement:
The Environmental Sustainability Fee Accountability Committee shall be the committee responsible for seeking input from students, faculty, staff, administration, and alumni. In addition, they will be responsible for collecting recommendations of environmental and/or sustainability projects to be paid for with funds collected through the Environmental Sustainability Fee.

Mission Statement:
The Purple Friday Committee organizes fun events, giveaways, and interactive challenges to encourage students to wear purple and celebrate their Bulldog pride every Friday. Whether it’s grabbing a free snack, or joining in on quick, engaging activities, there’s always a reason to get involved. The Athletic Fee Accountability Committee is dedicated to ensuring that student athletic fees are utilized effectively to enhance recreational, club, and varsity athletics at Truman State University. Comprising both students and non-student members, the committee aims to balance student-driven project proposals with logistical guidance. By maintaining transparency and regularly reporting on funding allocations and project statuses, the committee upholds its commitment to accountability and student involvement.
