Campus Beautification Project
Initiated by: The Executive and the Environmental Affairs Committee
Goal: To increase campus beautification and utilization of the Labyrinth–a past student government project located between the Pershing Building, the Adair House, and Ryle Hall.
A half decade ago, Truman State Student Government created the Labyrinth, a rock garden circle created as a relaxing space for students to reflect and practice mindfulness.
However, this area receives little usage by the general student population and–in response for calls for a swingset–President Peterson and Vice President Croat are pushing forward a plan to beautify the space by creating a wildflower garden, highlighted by two outdoor gliders, in order to push for more outdoor spaces for students.

The T.E.A. Act
Initiated by: The President Alex Peterson and Vice President Ben Croat
Goal: To increase transparency and external accountability for fee-based organizations—Student Government, Student Activities Board, and the Funds Allotment Council.
With coordinated efforts with SAB and FAC, the Student Government has developed a multi-pronged plan to increase the external connection of our organizations with the student body and improve internal procedures to increase accountability to the student body. These efforts include an informal roundtable/meet-up in which the student body can directly connect with the leaders of fee-based organizations to discuss various threats in the Student Union Building. Additional efforts include further humanizing the work of fee-based organization members, reinstating FAC on the Student Government ballot, publicly posting Student Government office hours, and altering the University website to better publish the websites of fee-based organizations.
A.E.D’s in the Res Halls
Initiated by: The Executive and the Health, Wellness, and Safety Committee
Goal: Student Government has worked with the Department of Residence Life, the Department of Public Safety, and student organizations like the National Residence Hall Honorary and the Residence Hall Association to create an interorganizational and interdepartmental collaboration to add Automated External Defibrillators (AED) in Missouri and Ryle Hall.
An AED is used to restart the heart in the event it stops beating because of a sudden cardiac arrest. This initiative improves campus health and safety by supporting student needs. These residence halls include dining facilities that students and community members use on a daily basis. By adding these life-saving devices, the Student Government strives to continue supporting student prosperity.
